Iron Man

Matthew has been taken with Iron Man for quite some time. Not that he's seen the movie (we'll screen it first), but he has seen previews and thinks it's going to be his newest favourite. He has browsed for costumes online and not finding anything in Canada (whew!) he asked if he could make his own mask. Cool! He started it in April with the papier mache part.




We got busy with other things and it sat for a while in a cupboard in the kitchen. Nicholas also made one, but I can't seem to find the photos of his. We had some time recently so Matthew got to work designing the face, deciding where the eyes and mouth should be and how much of it should be painted gold. Once that was decided I helped him cut out the eyes and mouth and then tape the area he didn't want gold. Today we went outside to paint!

The spray paint dried very quickly and the next step will be to paint the burgundy parts. He's looking forward to working on it some more. He's already making a cardboard box into the body of his costume!

Just Relaxing!

It's a bit chilly in the house tonight so Nicholas and I shared a blanket on the couch. Pretty soon Matthew wanted a snuggle, too. Before long, Panda decided she was hopping up to join us. She paced and paced in front of Nicholas before she made her move. She is such a suck! This is, of course, a side of her nobody but our family gets to see. We stayed like this until it was time for the boys to head for bed.

Camp

We took Panda with us to camp today. I wish some of the photos had turned out better so I could post them. Every one with her in it was blurred - she moves far too fast and I still haven't played around with different settings on the camera to fix this. There are some gorgeous tiny flowers in the woods now, little yellow, white and purple ones. Also some of the trees are in bloom. No trilliums though. Still too soon for them here.
