Thursday evening was gorgeous! One ash tree in our yard has turned brilliant yellow. The oak hasn't done much yet, other than dropping acorns all over which the boys have been collecting (I'm not sure why!). The maples on our property are not the kind that turn beautiful fall colours. They kind of go a dingy dark green and drop to the ground. However, around town there are many that have a lovely red colour already. I need to remember to take the camera with me the next time we go out to do the papers near the pool.
Nicholas and Matthew spent some time outside practising their Tae Kwon Do moves. Their instructor can go into a full splits and do push ups in that position so all three boys have been doing their best to do the splits. They have learned their first pattern this week as well, which is necessary for them to know for their yellow belt testing. We found a website that has videos of each of the patterns, along with a written list of the steps. They have been eagerly studying this and Nicholas can do the pattern from memory now. This week they've also learned in class how to count to five in Korean. Andrew has made himself a little booklet of Korean words and has been studying them. They are totally fascinated by the language and are soaking up the new words.
