Christmas Parade

This was our third year taking part in our town's Santa Claus Parade. It's held the first Friday evening in December and the floats are beautifully lit up. I spent a couple of weeks beforehand painting the sheep background for the sides of the trailer, then the day before started on the Merry Christmas and camp signs - they really were a last-minute addition since I did the drawing Thursday night and the painting Friday morning!! Our nieces and nephews didn't make it to be on the float this year, so we had just five children dressed up, but they had a great time! I saw many people quickly getting their cameras out to take photos of our float as we went by which was pretty exciting to the kids.

After we finished the route, we stopped back at home to let the kids out of the trailer, then I took them over to watch the rest of the parade (there are advantages to being near the front of the parade and living close to the route). When the parade was finished we headed back home for hot chocolate, homemade apple pie (courtesy of one of Adrian's sisters) and cookies. C & C, who travel over an hour and a half each week to help with The Book Club, stayed over at our house with their daughters, H & A that night. After the kids were in bed, we had a lovely feast of homemade bread, different types of cheese, crackers and wine. It was a late night, but a really nice one!
