Merry Christmas!

We're just waiting on dinner to finish in the oven and afterwards Adrian's parents are coming over to go to a local Christmas Eve service with us. It's just too much to make the long drive to our own church this evening and three of the local churches get together each year and share the services. We attended a couple of years ago and it was lovely. The bonus is that the host church this year is walking distance away from us.
Later on we'll sit by the lights of the Christmas tree with the woodstove burning and watch the 1951 b&w version of "A Christmas Carol" with Alastair Sim as Scrooge. A must for this particular Christmas Eve tradition is to have a tin of Quality Street chocolates and some Christmas baking available for snacking!
The boys are in high spirits - they have been sent repeatedly to the basement to let off some steam and save our ears. They are very excited. I wish now it hadn't poured all afternoon preventing them from being outside to get rid of some of the excess energy. Hopefully they'll become sleepy watching the movie and it won't be too much trouble to get them off to bed. I'm sure tomorrow morning will come far too early!
Merry Christmas!
